Politics in the morning, bathing in the evening
Seminars and conferences at the Academy for Political Education
The Academy for Political Education in Tutzing was created in 1957 to strengthen the democratic consciousness of the population. Since then, it has been organizing conferences, panel discussions and seminars on current and historical topics from politics, business and society – non-partisan and non-denominational. Regular exhibitions and cabaret evenings are now also part of the academy’s offerings.
The audience is mixed. During the week, teachers, school classes and scientific conferences are guests. The evening events also attract interested people from the surrounding area. During the weekends, participants come from all over Bavaria and beyond to exchange ideas on current topics such as democracy, digitization and social change.
Guests appreciate the high level of the events thanks to speakers from science, politics and business. The breaks on the in-house jetty on Lake Starnberg or in the library and the continuation of discussions over good food also contribute to the popularity of the Academy.
Meanwhile, the Academy also provides information on political and social issues in various digital formats, including free online events, social media channels, the podcast “Academy for the Ear” and the digital edition of the magazine Akademie-Report.
