Here pulsates the life on the lake
North of the Dampfersteg is the Brahmspromenade, an approximately 800-meter-long public park dedicated to the composer Johannes Brahms, who wrote three of his works in Tutzing in 1873. It invites you to stroll and has a boules court.
From here you can enjoy the spectacular alpine view, while the children romp to their hearts’ content in the extensive children’s playground right by the lake.
If you follow the Brahmsweg, you will get directly to the Midgardhaus. This was built in 1853 as a villa in the style of an Italian country house with the Belvedere tower by Karl Graf von Vieregg as a guest house for his nearby castle (today the Protestant Academy of Tutzing).
Here there is a flight of steps leading down to the lake with the well-known flanking Tutzing lions. The villa developed into a meeting place for illustrious artists, intellectuals and entrepreneurs. Today, the house is home to a restaurant with a terrace and an adjacent, shady beer garden.
